The fifth album from Ithaca based electronic artist S Rever aims to reimagine sensory perception and emotion through digital synthesis and audio manipulation. The result is their most expansive project so far, venturing beyond the sound of ambient to incorporate prominent elements of IDM, ambient techno and even UK dubstep on tracks like 'Asleep'.
Throughout these twelve expressions of the concept of Aesthesia, S Rever imbues his electronic compositions with a gentle, unmistakably human pulse. Interspersed across these stretches of exploratory sound are curious vocal snippets, so too affected to blur our impression of human synthesis. How sound externalizes feelings with such vibrancy, evokes emotion beyond what can be verbalized plain, S Rever beckons us to share in the sensation.
